This course will cover shutter testing procedures and requirements for gaining approvals, understanding the necessity of knowing design pressures in order to properly build and install shutters. This session will also cover FBC vs. HVHZ/ Miami Dade use of approval drawings.

4C Wind-borne Debris Protection
An in-depth review of the structural potion of the Florida Building Code (FBC) including wind-borne debris requirements and available options. You will learn to discuss design criteria and options with clients, building officials, contractors and engineers; explain where and why wind-borne protection is needed; discuss features, benefits and levels of protection and costs of each option; and explain the differences in product testing and certification by FBC.
