This session will cover, 1) The type of products that required by Miami-Dade County to have Products Control Approval Notice of Acceptance (NOA). 2) The steps the file will go through from the time the manufacturer apply till we issue his Notice of Acceptance. 3) The information on our Web Site and finding the answer to many questions. 4) The new Florida Building Code 2007 that will be in effect starting March 01, 2009 regarding the Expansion Anchor Bolts in concrete. 5) The new allowable for Expansion Anchors in Cracked and Uncracked Concrete and the new Anchor spacing and Edge Distance per the Strength Design provisions of ACI 318-05 Appendix D.

3B Mitigation Programs, Wind Mitigation Inspections and Insurance Discounts What does it all mean?
This seminar covers changes in several areas of the Florida Building Code including the wind-borne debris region, opening protection requirements and insurance and mitigation. It also will cover the Universal Home Grading Scale, which scores a home’s relative ability to withstand severe windstorm damage and is required for Citizen’s insurance. Florida’s Universal Mitigation Verification Inspection Form also will be reviewed, as will updates to the My Safe Florida Home program, South Carolina’s Safe Home program and a similar program in Louisiana.
